Newbie from New Orleans Area

I have been reading the posts from this forum for months, so finally decided to officially sign in. We (DW and myself) are scheduled to pick up our new Keystone Cougar 291RLS in about 2 weeks. This will be our first RV and we are getting it to start the RV life a little at a time until we can retire in 2 to 6 years (depending on market).

Thanks for the welcomes. We are from the New Orleans area, but we are very seldom there. Right now we (both of us work for the same construction company) are in Dallas working. Over the past 23 years we have worked in every state in the Southeast except Florida. Plus Ohio, Maryland, Virginia, Texas and Oklahoma. We will be in Dallas about a year more. Then it may be back to Charleston, SC. This is why we decided to do the RV route where we can go as we please at our own pace.

Our first trips will be out toward Gulf Shores or Destin areas. Once we get them under our belts we will try longer ones.

Hello Reuben, welcome to the forum. Best of luck and safe travels with your new Cougar. Weather's kind of nasty in Dallas this weekend. Stay warm and dry.

Hi folks! Welcome to IRV2! Glad you finally decided to jump in! You'll have lots of fun here. We have a son who lives in Slidell. Nice place to visit, but don't want to live there! Too much flat land. This old country boy likes the hills! Good luck & God bless!

Our house is about 5 miles North of Slidell.
