Smile Newbie from TX

Hi All!
We purchased our first camper this past Spring and are LOVING every minute of it. We chose a TT - Keystone Outback 300BHS - and while it's 'big', we always seem to appreciate every square inch. It's me, DH and our 2 sons (14 & 11) and our dog. We're weekend campers but I'm dreaming about "SOMEDAY" when we can do this full-time or at least half the year?! (We saw a new 2008 Winnebago Adventurer 38J last week and if I had the money, we'd be in it right now - I fell head over heels.)

Anyway, all we've done so far is State Parks and have enjoyed the outdoors. One of these days we'll make it to an RV park and see what we're missing there. Because we're only weekend campers, we generally stay close to home but have gone as far as 3-5 hours away. We're seeing parts of TX that we've never been to. All of our family lives in southwest Louisiana and we go over often to visit but have never hauled the TT there.

I'm looking forward to all the things I'll learn on this site - I love reading what others have discovered thru trial and error!

Good Times, lots of Texas Boomers in the Houston area and we are having out annual Labor Day rally in Burleson. Love to have y'all sign up and come.

Scroll to the bottom of the front page and find the South central section and all the info is there. Mike and Amber are our Area Leaders to try and keep us organized ..if that is possible.

You've passed the first prerequisite of being a Texas Boomer...you have a dog or at least you have a picture of a dog. Welcome to our little group that Mike and Amber herd, truth be told, its really Amber but Mike does a great job with his little red machine. Join us for a rally as soon as you can...

Thanks for the welcome, yall! Not sure about any upcoming rallies - not sure if you caught this but we have KIDS. (we were old when we had them - now alot of our friends are close to retiring and we're in the midst of puberty issues) From the great Texas Boomers pictures, I didn't see any kids! - don't know that yall would want ours around the campsite..........Anyway, I'll still keep up with yall on this forum and ONE OF THESE DAYS, we just might show up. Thanks again

Yup, we saw that. Doesn't matter. You'll usually find that several Texas Boomers will have their grandkids with them at a given rally. We're kid-friendly!

Let me add my welcome to iRV2 while I'm at it.

Jim, they don't do it for FREE...you have to pay them in folding money.

Goodtimes, the kids are usually off doing somethng and don't want to be seen with a bunch of old folks. The kids are definately a welcome addition. Some rallies we have none and other there are a number of kids.

Good Times, We are definately a kid friendly group. Last year our National at Perrin, had quite a few kids that put on a Great Play, and participated in many activities. Feel free at anytime to bring them.

Lucky us!

Not only are yall friendly - you're KID friendly too! I warn all of you now, my boys are entrepreneurs - they'd be all over those campsites, asking what they can do to make money!!!!! I'll definately be looking at the upcoming rallies and see if we can't make one. Looking forward to it.

thanks again,
GoodTimes
