Welcome fellow NYer

We're originally from Western NY; Oct 2- we'll be celebrating our 9th year as fulltimers. We spend a few weeks each summer visiting the in-laws and out-laws in WNY. Currently in WNY until first week of October.

One of the best things I did with the Gulfstream was to have the unit raised to above the axles. This gave us much more ground clearance ...plus I liked how it pulled like that.

We had the rear bunks and bathroom and a front bedroom. I have nothing but good things to say about that trailer and thus Gulfstream. Like any vehicle it needs to be maintained. I hope your unit brings you as much fun and enjoyment ours brought us.

BTW: We lived in Saratoga Springs/Ballston Spa for a few years in a past life when I was in the service. Upstate NY is one of the most beautiful places I've ever had the privledge to live.

You are the first I have come across that has owned a 93 Innsbruck! We haven't pulled ours yet..we are kinda nervous, never done it before. I have posted pics in the photos forum, so go take a look and tell me what you think.. NY is beautiful but I just cannot stand the cold. I am hoping to go south for the winters when hubby rtires. He hates the cold weather too.

I haven't found your pic(s) here yet ...but that's not saying much. Sometimes I'm computer literate and sometimes not.

The GVW of our trailer was 6,600lbs I think. We pulled it with a 1989 D350 diesel-powered dually. Our maiden voyage was from here in Iowa to Florida. I had never pulled a TT before and was concerned it would turn into a pile of matchsticks by the time we returned. The unit did superbly. We dragged that trailer out to the Outer Banks of NC another time ...including voyages on two ocean-going ferries.

I installed a Pull-Rite hitch on the pickup. That hitch was the greatest. Expensive, but to me worth every cent. What is your tow vehicle?

We are hoping it is enought to pull the TT, 1985 GMC Canyon 4X4. If not we will purchase a vehicle that can. We bought the TT becase it was such a good deal and our daughter and her hubby camps alot.
At the top of the page next to Forums it says photos..under the pics it tells who owns them..mine will say Northerngirl.

Very nice unit ...brings back lots of good memories. We didn't have the rear door like yours. I'm not familiar with the GMC Canyon but I imagine it will do ok for local get outs. If you want to hit the road and really go places you may have to upgrade ...time will tell.
