Newbie in NC Palazzo 37.4

Hi all I'm Bruce and my wife Pat from Sanford NC.

I've lurked around the forum for years now as we gathered information and kept looking at RV's we felt would fit what we would need in retirement. Original plan was to full time but a miracle grandson came along 17 months ago so we changed our plans. We'll be traveling between four and six months a year and have a nice retirement home we moved into in October near our daughter and grandson.

We camped in a popup for ten years and owned a beach house for five but it didn't drive well and the scenery was always the same. Pat retired on January 4th and I decided to go to the Super Show to look at the diesel pushers within our budget and Super C's. After looking all day we came back to the Palazzo's and found the 37.4 floor plan which we hadn't seen yet. It was everything we wanted so we purchased one. Unfortunately the show unit was sold but we have an order that is to start building February 2nd with delivery in late March or early April.

I won't retire for a bit over a year yet so we'll have perfect timing to break in the new unit and get anything that needs fixed done before it would impact our travel plans. I hope to meet some of you on the road as we plan to travel lots before we get too old. I found these forums to be vital to our RV search as we could find the owner complaints and thoughts that made me feel more at ease making the purchase. The biggest thing I took away from the forums is that no RV will be perfect and we'll constantly have things to work on (like the beach house) but with a sunny attitude and patience we hope to have incredible experiences traveling.

The coach went on line a week early so we went to see the Thor plant Monday. While not much to look at on our coach we also got to see the side walls being worked on. It was still very informative and we're glad we could get there.
