Hi all! I was just referred here from the Escapees Forum Board. My fiance and I just bought our first home on wheels this past week and I'll be spending the next year getting it ready for our year long honeymoon! I'm excited to be a part of this board as I'm one to ask a lot of questions.

Our new rig is a 1983 Fleetwood Tioga. I look forward to hearing from any of you that may have some tips regarding this rig. From what I know, it's a Chevy 3500 chassis (HD diesel transmission) with an aftermarket Chevy 454 engine with around 2000 miles on it.

Good to meet y'all!

Ant

Hi Ant,
Welcome to iRV2. Anybody who lives in the Finger Lakes area is as tough as nails. You'll do fine with your RV. While growing up, I spent all my summers on Cayuga lake, about 15 miles north of Ithaca, on the west side of the lake, directly across from the coal fired electric plant. What I remember is always having to get up early in the morning because sunrise came through the cottage windows.

Are the lakes as cold as I remember? My grandfather would not let us water ski until the water temp was above 60 degrees F. I don't think the lake ever got above 70.

The lake has great fishing.
