Newbie in the SouthEast

Hello to all! Newbie RVers here. We went all in on a used Fleetwood Discovery 42a and we'll be touring the SE for 4 months as we transition life to SE Virginia in August.

This forum has been a fantastic resource as I was researching different motorhomes and is my go-to source for questions as we start to get to know our new home and the RV life.

I am constantly finding out how much I don't yet know.
For instance, I bought our rig in Texas and wasn't on the road home more than 3 hours when I see a warning flash on my dash. "High Engine Exhaust Temperature"!
Of course I panic!
I start looking at all my gauges, temperature readouts, etc at the same time I'm trying to figure out how long I have before my engine explodes. "Can I make it to the next exit?" and "This has to happen in the middle of nowhere!" is mixed with a few choice words for the previous owners and the guys who checked out the RV.
Well, I pull off the road at an exit with cell service and find out that it simply means the diesel engine is doing some sort of cleaning (Or something like that) and the exhaust is hot. So don't go parking over grass or something flamable.

Anyway... I'm sure I'll be asking all sorts of questions. Thank you in advance! And maybe in a few years, I'll have enough of the above experiences to share a bit of knowledge as well.

Chris

I know! I can only imagine the $$$ and time I'd spend through trial and error if I couldn't do a quick internet search.
