Newbie,needing help

Hi newbie to rving. Just got a older rv that has been sitting in the outdoors for 4 years, it has some work to be done. It is a 1979 dodge based class a, with 440 engine, Built by Skylark Industries out of Lethbridge ALTA. got the owners manual but need dearly a chassis and engine manual. It runs well but being a DIY type of guy, i need input, so i can get the small things done so my life partner Renee and i can hit the road. I know that there are chassis manuals and parts catalogues out there but they cost my right arm and leg. I am on a small disability pension so costs are a factor. i have rebuilt half of the interior already but need some knowledge on a cou[ple roof leaks and engine.

any help would be grateful god bless you

Welcome to iRV2

The info you're after for the motor would be for the 440 heavy truck engine referred to as a 440-3.
1978 was the last year the 440 was produced but there were a large number of Class A chassis distributed ; even some re-serial numbered by Dodge till 1980.
I worked for a Dodge dealer from 75>07 , if you post some questions maybe I can help .
Or , if you post the questions in the " Vintage RVs" forums , there are a number of owners of MHs on the Dodge chassis there who answer questions.
