Newbie questions & advice

We are buying a 2005 Sun Voyager and looking for advice e.g., what to look for, be aware of, cautions etc. Your input is appreciated.

Hello, and
I'm sure others will be chimeing in shortly, for my input I'll say tires tires tires.
At 7 years old the coach probably has 8/9 year old tires on it , check the date code, adjust your offer, as you'll need to replace tires before you travel.

Excellent advice. I followed up with the seller - new tires. Whew. That could have been a disaster. After your post, I checked internet and Edmunds has great advice for tires. Thank you!!

I was sure someone would have come through with a check list of things to look at by now.

Private deal take all the usual precautions, regarding title.

Ask that all systems be ready for testing, water on board so you can run the pump and check for leaks, check battery condition, see if they look oringinal, have them start the fridge 24hrs before you arrive and have a thermometer with you. Make sure you can road test the unit. Check every corner and cupboard for any sign of water leaks, test every appliance and TV. If your unsure of any item , take it to a shop that deals in RV's to have it checked out.
One of the Forum Moderators had a check sheet in an old post , I'll see if I can track it down for you.

OK, I found it. Now bear with me and I'll try and get you there.

Click the "Search" drop box ( three to the left of "Log Out")

type in " pre purchase inspection form and help needed " click " Go"

You will come to a page with the thread of this title , By "IamGadget"

Open the thread and go to the 4th post , by "Hitchhiker"

Download and print out the " Acceptance Check List . pdf "54.3kb

It's a little shy on drive line , set for a 5th , but good for every thing else.
Sorry I can't import it directly over to you , but when I try that kind of thing I usually screw it up.
