Newbie with a question-duh!

Newbie from San Marcos, Texas. Retiring in about 4 months...no trailer yet, but I have what might be a serious question. At least to me. We'll most likely buy used, and I stumbled across a comment made by someone, that private parks may not accept units older than 10 years. That would be a 2003 model. Is this true? Is it something should be worrying about? What about other parks, such as State, Federal?? Any comments would indeed be welcome. Bob

Welcome to IRV2. This subject has been discussed here before. I googled it for you

10 year old - Google Search

Take a look at those. It's not a huge problem in most parks.

When I had an older Motorhome I just said it was nine years old. It was nice looking and I was never asked to prove it. Most places that ask think they are high end places( snootie) that you probably wouldn't want to stay at.

Hi and welcome to the forum.

Cliff provided a lot of background reading on the topic you may find interesting. IMHO, it's something which only involves corner cases and not something to worry about so long as your rig looks presentable.

Parks do this in an attempt to maintain some sort of aesthetic standard by keeping out very old, broken down RVs. Many folks take this as a personal affront to their character but I don't think it's intended to be that.

To my knowledge, no state/local/federal parks have such restrictions.

Best of luck.

Rick
