Newbie with free non running Damon 310

Hello, Kids.

My name is Doc (short for Dr. Rock) and I just inherited a 1998 Damon Challenger 310 with 78,000 miles on a Ford 460 EFI that has been parked for eight years. No leaks and the interior is beautiful. I am 65 years old and live 2.5 miles west of Magnolia Springs, Alabama. Some of my friends think I'm crazy for taking this on as I am not a mechanic (but youtube and google have walked me through things I thought might be beyond me). My mission is to bring this class A back to life. I was told that a year ago my uncle tried to start it and as long as they sprayed starter fluid in it it would run. Tells me it's getting spark but no fuel. I will be going through all fuses/relays, checking for chewed up lines, fuel pump, filter, etc. All other systems I'll address one at a time once (fingers crossed) I get this Big Pig fired up. I don't plan on going to Alaska in it. Just local trips, Talladega, down the Gulf, National Forests, etc. I mean, it was FREE. The only cost I've got in it is $67 for a battery (engine spins) and $390 for the Giant Tow Truck to haul it to my favorite Rednecks property where it either comes back from the dead or I use it as my crash pad if we have to much 'shine...

Myself: I am 65 years old and have been a professional musician since 1977. I retired 3 years ago after 34 years based in Green Bay, WI. GO PACK! Came down here to help my 87 year old Daddy through his final years. For a little extra pocket money I teach at a little music store up in Fairhope (guitar, bass, fiddle). I LOVE the South and the wonderful people who have accepted me as their friend and made me family. They are already entertained by the challenge of the Big Pig and willing to help in any way they can.

PS: I know NOTHING about the systems on this rig. What are these switches for? Does the roof air (2) work when you run down the road? Does the fridge? Anybody want a Tube TV?... So I will be coming to you all with these questions. Wish me luck!

PPS: Hey! Hold my beer and watch this!!!

Glad to have you here in the forum with us. You're gonna like it here.

Posting a little bit about your MH and putting it in your signature as I have done will aid those who can help. Go to User CP above and then edit signature.
I would start with the filters for the engine issue. If it sat for 8 years, you most likely have bad fuel also.
Good luck getting it restored and ask questions as they arise. You'll get quick answers.

Happy Trails!!!

Congrats on your new-to-you adventure and project! Post pictures, keep us in the loop and thanks for sharing your neat story. For sure if you get Big Pig running you'll need a fresh set of tires. List to learn here, be sure to ask all the questions you have!
