Newbies from Maryland
Hello,
We're newbies to retirement and 5th wheel RV'ing. We're probably doing this a bit different than most everyone else here. We recently bought a '96 Holiday Rambler Imperial 37' 5th wheel trailer.
Even though it's a bit older and dated, it serves our purpose of having it in a locale away from our base in Southern Maryland. What may make our situation a little different is that we have no means to transport or move our trailer. We are using it in an RV park in Central Florida from Nov-Apr, then put in storage for the remainder of the year.
It will be interesting to see how our dependence on others play out.
Thanks for having this great site. I've already found answers to some of our questions.

Welcome from a former "crab". My mom grew up on a tobacco farm in southern Maryland and I grew up in Prince George's County.
Your idea is a wonderful solution. That is my plan for down the road when DH can no longer safely drive. I have no desire to haul our TT.

Welcome to the forums. We almost decided to do what you are doing but bought a motor home instead.

Welcome. We too are former Marylanders. We lived and cruised on our boat for 25 years before we bought our 1999 Fleetwood Bounder. She's in great shape and we can take all that extra cash we would have spent for a newer rig and go traveling. We are really enjoying the coach and like you, it fits our needs just fine. Welcome. It may not be as popular here but it is a very popular way for folks to use campers. Some I know have a summer camper and a winter camper so their home is the truck they use to move between them. ;-)
