Well we finally made the decision. Getting rid of the home, all our stuff in it and bought a rig. A Carriage Carri-Lite with a diesel truck.
We still have a couple of weks before we take delivery, so have time to wrap up the details. Some of what held us up with the decision was to wait around until the youngest had their first child. Well it happened this weekend. A brand new baby girl entered the world at 7:30 am. Just 30 minutes off the delivery time of my 35 year old son.
So here we are packing, throwing and giving stuff away and getting ready. Might head to Iowa first to see family, then Wisonsin to see more family, then come winter head to New Mexico to stay with more family on the back 40.
Joined up to learn what I can here rather than the hard way on the road. An old timer at this told me one can read all they want , and they might even learn something, but 95% of all you will learn is on the road and from people that have already been there and done that.

Welcome to this forum.
So good things really do come in threes it would seem.
1) Full time RVing
2) New rig
3) New granddaughter
Congratulation and well done. I am sure that you will enjoy all 3

Welcome from another washingtonian..We live on the dry side of the Kitsap Peninsula. We are just changing from a 35' TT to a 39' class A and so far I love it. I drove school bus here in Bremerton for 10 years, but didn't even dream that one of these things could be so comfy to drive and I have driven several high end charter coaches.
We're also heading back to the midwest, either the last of April or the first of May, and will also be going to Storm Lake,Ia (son),Joliet,Il (born there) and to Oconto,Wi (lived ther in the mid 40's before my family moved to Olympia).
Have a good trip and enjoy the new fiver.

Thanks everyone for the best wishes and kind words.
But Oconto ? Born and raised in Wausau, we still have family around the Green Bay, Appleton area. Wifes folks lived in Shawano and had family up in Marienette. Got family in around Marshalltown, IA as well. Small world.
HMMmmmmm.. I got rear ended by a school bus once back a bunch of years ago, that wasnt you saying hi, was it

ltpinwa,
You're getting a jump on us. I'm retiring June 1st, but we've got two properties to sell here, in Wisconsin, before we can hit the road full time. I was born in Seattle, but don't have many memories of that area. I do remember living in Spokane (4th grade) and with my grandparents in Newport (north of Spokane) before that.
I too have relatives in Wausau and our 2nd home is just west of Appleton, in Waushara county. If you weren't going to be so busy with family I'd suggest you give me a call when here and I'd take you for a boat ride on the Wolf river.
Happy trails...
