Newbies to Alberta

Hi we spent the last two months trying to decide on which fifth wheel to buy. Finally we have narrowed it down to two units, we are looking at a Primetime crusader 360 BHS touring edition and a Keystone avalanche 360RB. I noticed there was a lot of bad feedback on Keystone products, one dealer we talked to said not to waste your money on a Keystone. We really like both trailers but would really appreciate some feedback from anyone who could help us make our final decision.
THANKS
Russ and Claudia

Howdy and welcome to the forums. I would suggest a google search on keystone and do lots of homework before buying any RV. Don't count on a salesperson to have all the answers.

Russ, Welcome , you didn't mention if this will be your first RV, and if the units your looking at are new. What use, trips do you plan ? Tow vehicle ?
Several brands out there, that might be OK in certain areas that wouldn't last a week in Alberta.
Poor insulation, exposed plumbing, under rated suspension componants, wheels and tires. I'm not familure with the 2 units you mentioned but will online them and re-post with any comments.

Here is a site that may be of help. They rate all types of RV's. They do charge a fee for their data base of $150 but IMO the information worth every penny.
I used it to buy our MH and do not regret it one bit.

Russ, looked at the floor plans of the 2 you mentioned, I trust from the plans that you have a small herd that you need to sleep.
Having not done a walk through, and no pictures of the keystone on line .
I can't speak to build quality. JMHO. I do not hold the Cougar line up in high regard.
The Avalanche 360RB . Fridge blocked when slide is in; trust me this will get old in a hurry. Very small food prep area, small fresh tank , considering 2 toilets.
And both units ride on what I would consider undersize tires. My last 5er had these on a 9,990 gvw 30 ft unit.
Are they at least 8 bolt wheels ? Nothing in specs on axle weight rating !
Crusader. The outside kitchen may be the savior here, if the weather allows you to get out and use it. with 3 slides on one side and one on the other , overall balance may be an issue.
I'll have another look later and ramble on somemore.

Hi thanks for the info, we have a 2012 2500 duramax and this is my 3rd fifth wheel and i haven't had one since 09. We are looking to get back into camping however there are so many brands out there. What do you recommend for a good quality fifth wheel for weekend enjoyment.
