Newly Retired

My wife Cindy and I both retired in 2014. Cindy was a High School Secretary and I spent 40 years in the steel business in Midlothian, Texas. We raised our two children in Class C motor homes through the years. My parents had a fifteen foot Shasta travel trailer we enjoyed very much. My wife Cindy never did very much camping until we married in 1978 when we purchased a 24 foot travel trailer. Upon retirement we purchased a 38 foot Diesel Class A and have ben using it around Texas. We are enjoying ourselves and are glad to be a member of this forum. Easy to get a lot of good advice about maintaining the coach. I am a do it yourselfer and te advice is always good. Regards. Glen and Cindy Carlisle

I retired 15 years ago and I still remember that day very fondly.

We spent several weeks in Texas back in May/June when all of the storms hit. We were very lucky and missed out of most of the rain and enjoyed your state to the fullest! Have fun and enjoy your Monaco Diplomat.

I got so sick of all the travelling I had to do for my job at Boeing (29 weeks out of country in 12 months and none of those trips was longer than 10 days). I had over 600,000 frequent flier miles with 8 different airlines (which we burned off in three years!!).

I asked for a new assignment and was refused, so I retired a month before my 58th birthday. Haven't regretted it for a minute.

Unfortunately, we've found the RV life a bit too pricey for our retirement income and we've had to give it up.
