Smile Nubee from VA

Have been a RV owner for 1.5 years now, but still learning from the school of hard knocks.. Trying to get better at it though. I am sure that I can find some others on this site that have already been there and done that regarding RVs and camping in general.
I grew up where my parents had a slide-in 12 1/2 ft camper on the back of our truck and we had a few memorable times on the road in it as kids. I guess that has been the extent of my actual experience but that was years ago. My wife had a pull-behind 28ft travel trailer before I met her and spent quite a bit of time doing the camping thing so she is much more experienced than I. She loves to camp and since we got married we have spent most of this time in tents and sometimes in a friends travel trailer. So on a bad tent-camping excursion, we decided not to do that as our main means of camping and we started looking at other - more weather friendly options. We come across what we thought was a good deal, or at least a cost we felt we could invest in order to find out if we were serious enough to spend the bigger bucks, a 1991 class C along the side of the road. So we stopped and looked it over and come back a couple of days later to talk to the sellers. Long story short, we purchased it and agreed that if we really liked it better than tent camping (whats not to like?) we would see about upgrading it to a newer model we we could afford it.
Well we took it on our first trip to Mansfield OH State Reformatory for a ghost hunt which our kids decided to tag along... Kids are actually in their 20's.. But as you might imagine, 6 grown-ups in a 28 ft class C from VA to OH.. Not a long trip, but remember the unit is a few years old so we did not want to push it too hard.. We had a great time and decided then that we were in it for the long haul.
My company come into a nice little bit of money so we started looking at upgrades (well replacing as nobody wanted the trade in) and found a 1999 Adventurer 32T. We looked at a lot of them before we fell in love with this one so we picked it up for a song and dance.. I sang - she danced.

We have been on a few trips in the new one and are doing repairs on the old one and giving it to my parents. So everyone is happy...

As our handle implies, we are waiting to retire, but it is coming soon. Hopefully we will see some new friends on the road at great places around the states.

Wife and I have been full timing (no house/no stuff) since 2005 and LOVIN IT!!
