Old Folks but New to 5ers
My retired husband wants to travel in an RV when I retire later this year. We've been looking for about two months (truck will be ordered when hitch weight is positively determined) and it seems the more research I do, the more questions I have. I've tried Googling for advice on well built models, hoping to find "Consumer Reports" for RVs. Do I really need to spend $69 for a set of books? I feel fortunate to have found this forum and hope to learn from the wealth of experience gathered here!
Thanks in advance!

Welcome to the forum. Lots of good folks and good info here. Good luck on your search. Why not ask specific questions on certain rigs you are considering.

Set a budget, then go shopping. Start playing house in floor plans you feel you like. Remember, what might be OK for a weekend could be a deal killer for weeks at a time. Tou might give serious consideration to buying used. Let someone else to eat the depreciation.

Glad to have you here in the forum with us. You're gonna like it here.
In "RV Forums" at the top there is a 5th wheel discussion group you might want to make inquiries in. Good luck with your search.
Happy Trails!!!

Find an RV you like that fits your budget, then look for a suitable truck that is also within your budget

Keep in mind..
Your 1st coach is a learning tool..
BUY USED! & buy one with everything you "think" you want and will need..
As You will make mistakes and have booboo's We all have.....(sometimes more than twice..)
Within a year or two you will discover..about the RV
What you love about the RV...
What you can kinda-sorta tolerate with the RV..
And what you absolutely hate about that !@#$%^%$#@! RV.
Then you can go get what you should have gotten in the first place..
Happy Hunting
Remember..Every day you put off retiring..is just one less Day of being retired

Funny you wrote spending the kids inheritance, I say that all the time. That being said this is best $50.00 you will spend ....Travel Trailor and Fifth wheel guide by Randall Eaton. Independent reviews etc. You won't be disappointed. I just bought a new 5th wheel based on what I read..
