Old newbie!

Hello all... My POOSSLQ and I are new owners of a Heartland BigHorn 3585RL - We bought it from LazyDays in FL in 3/2011, stored it until 7/08, then left for our "figure-8" trip around the US. I had to pry my fingers off the steering wheel of our 2007 F350/ Dually/6L Diesel/etc, for the first 1000 miles (or so), and dreaded having to put it in reverse... But I am pleased to report that on our last loop of the figure-8 (now headed back to FL from Iowa), I am finally comfortable pulling this 38' behemoth!

Incidentally, POOSLQ means "Person Of Opposite Sex Sharing Living Quarters" - it seemed silly to refer to each other as boyfriend/girlfriend or friend ...

We love our BigHorn, and have had only minor problems with it -so we are pleased to see this forum where we can commiserate with others.

My problems to date:
Continuously blow 20 amp 12V fuse for lights over drivers side K/LR slide;
Lights over sofa stopped working ( fuse is OK);
Fresh water leak apparently under linoleum in BR, just started - after 7500
mile trip - can't find source - leaks into basement through scewhole
holding heater vent - annoyance, not catastrophic (yet...)

I'll keep searching the threads looking for solutions, then take it back to LazyDays when we get back to FL in a week or so.

(pretty long-winded for my first post - I'll try to get better at this!)

Welcome to the forum and congrats on the new rig. Getting used to driving something so large can really be intimidating but it sounds like you've learned that practice makes perfect.

Feel free to jump in and participate. There's a bunch of friendly, helpful people here but don't expect POOSSLQ to catch on as a commonly used acronym.

We're glad you're here.

Rick
