Our first RV

Good evening from not so sunny Florida. I have been lurking on this site for a couple of months as the reality of actually getting an RV has taken shape. My husband went from "no way" to "maybe" to "let's do it" through several months of me showing what a great idea it was

Our journey started in February when he convinced me that we needed to get something bigger to tow our boat. We found what we wanted in March but it was in West Virginia. The next day we decided to take a road trip and look at it. We loved it and bought it and then decided that instead of going home we would take a couple of days to enjoy the snow storm that came in. After a couple of days we figured that since we were so close (7 hours) to his dad that we would go visit. We went up to Indiana to visit and then realized we were having a great time and that my DH had never been West so off to Las Vegas we went. From there we ended up in the mountains of California and then slowly made our way home. That buying trip ended up with a 6600 mile road trip over two weeks. He jokingly started to call that SUV our SUrV. That planted the bug.

I started to read up on RV's and showing him different models. A couple of weeks later we went looking at RV lots to see what we would be able to get. Then we rented an RV for 5 days to see how we felt about the space. We got busy after that and then out of the blue one of the sales people we had spoken with emailed me about a unit that they had just gotten in. It was exactly what we said we wanted.

We went to look at it and it was perfect but being first timers felt an inspection was in order. The inspection showed some issues but after a lot of negotiations we were able to get all of the repairs we felt justified the purchase.

We are now the proud owners of a 2003 Travel Supreme Select DP
