Our Tip for the First Trips for Newbies

As a brand new newbie with little experiential knowledge but a moderate amount of head knowledge (and fortunately, in this case, smart enough to know the difference) we decided when we bought our new to us Class A a few weeks ago that we would spend three nights at the dealership campground. It was absolutely the best decision for us. We had access to the salesmen, the manager, the technician, the parts department and anyone else we needed. We were in and out of the store many times asking lots of questions. Needless to say I had initially written down questions to ask (and faithfully recorded the answers) and we also videoed the PDI but still having them close by gave us time to ask those questions we couldn’t think of initially. We will be going on our next trip to a horse show in the same city but we will be staying on the show grounds. Again, we know that we will be in close contact with the dealership and they’ll be available should we need them. In addition, we have several friends who will be camping next to us so we’ll have help if we need it. All of this in preparation for an Easter trip to Charleston, SC. Hopefully by then we’ll be able to successfully venture out on our own! Now if the weather will just cooperate.

Congratulations!
You may want to leave a vehicle in your RV storage facility while you are gone.
That place is filling up fast.
Safe travels,
Alex

Welcome and enjoy.
Camping with friends is a great way to learn and get ideas. On our shake down trip last fall, we went with 2 other couples with TT's and we were able to see their set ups and gadgets that can make life around the campsite more enjoyable.

Great approach. We are still learning about our fifth wheel trailer a year later. You can never have too much good support! Good luck!
