Smile Out of Canada

Hi
My husband Bill and I are on our third RV - we havebeen retired for 10 years and have travelled Canada from coast to coast and have done a circle trip of the USA. We also enjoy shorter trips with our grandchildren.
We are looking for a trip to Alaska next year and would like to find a Canadian company that organizes a caravan as we are a bit fearful of the long highway with few services.
Bonnie

Bonnie (Ontario19):

Hi from Florida and a BIG WELCOME to the iRV2 gang.

We're originally out of Duluth, MN (W. end of Lk. Superior) although, having sold the house and stuff back in 05, we now travel full time.

Just wanted to comment about your planned Alaska trip. Believe us, you sure won't have a problem traveling to Alaska on your own. In fact, it's likely you'll find it much more enjoyable since ya can poke around on your own schedule. Just head over to Saskatoon, to Edmonton, up to Dawson Creek and on to Whitehorse. At Whitehorse ya need to decide whether to run straight to Tok, Alaska, or run up to Dawson City, Yukon up North of Whitehorse, then take the Top of the World highway into Alaska, to Chicken and on back SWest to Tok.

Anyway, really think about going without being tied to a caravan. You'll very likely end up occasionally caravaning with folks ya meet along the way anyhow.

Again, WELCOME, and have good trip.

Steve & Lynette

Is it just me or does it take a while to be able to navigate this forum? I seem to be lost half the time!

Do you have any specific problems you can point out?

I probably just need to spend some time exploring but I found it difficult to get back to my original posting.
There is a lot of good information in the posts but I will need to narrow my focus and not be jumping around.

Ask if you find anything specific.'

Sometimes I go back by either looking at the computer history link or to the main page of the forum for the post I'm looking for.

I don't really have the know how to tell you how to do it simpler but my back space key sure gets a work out.

Bonnie, just follow Chickadee's advice.. go straight up NORTH and always keep a
paved / hard surface road in front of you. There is a line of RV's and cars going in summer up North, just stay with them and keep an eye on them. You just can't get lost.
