Researching first trailer purchase
Hello All. The wife and I are researching for our first trailer purchase in hopes of avoiding many of the pitfalls, and to also avoiding buying any rolling junkheaps.
Still in the earliest stages of research, and have already decided on a few of which brands to avoid. It seems a lot harder to determine which brands are worthwhile, although some names do seem to stand out based quality and customer appreciation. I do hope that the other information here will help us in this decision.
We live in the Chicago area

Welcome to the irv2 gang! You've come to the right place to find information. Folks in these forums are really helpful. If you haven't already discovered it, most pages in these forums have search options. You can search the whole site or search within a forum. We, too, used the information found here to make our RV choice a few months ago. Good luck with your research!

Welcome to the Forum. I am sure some one on the Forum will have some suggestions. Best of luck on your search. I would go to a few Dealers and visit an RV show to see what is out there. Do you want to buy new or look for a used units? How much to you plan on spending? How many are in your family? etc. What do you have to tow the trailer? If you have a pickup, you will need to see how much weight it will pull.
Best of luck on your search.

You might get some useful info from this site -http://www.rv-coach.com/RV/manufacturers/survey/rate_your_rv_results.html - though most ratings are pretty old - good luck, most TTs are fairly well put together but don't expect car like since RVs are more complex and not done on a robotic assembly line.
