Residential Fridge door latch fix!!

Hi everyone and thanks for all the help w our questions!! Now we have a residential fridge in our new Southwind!! They have two doors in the fridge and the bottom slide out freezer drawer!! There are two brackets in between upper and lower doors to keep them closed. You have to remember to rotate them to the proper position to open doors. Ok we can do that but the riveted part that holds it in place is sloppy and those pesky rubber pads are missing on one of the slide brackets. So whether this is the right thing to do I removed the bracket assembly from the bottom door hinges!!! Bought some Velcro in a roll and while traveling use it to secure door by running it through the door handles. Top and bottom of door handle then loop it around freezer handle and wrap it around the lower Velcro holding the fridge door!! Now I saved those brackets just in case and hope this helps someone with the same condition.😳😬
Any thoughts would be welcome!!

Yep, I remover our brackets also. Sloppy so they had to go. Use a similar fix.

Yeah, the brackets that were installed on the residential fridge in my 16 bounder were flimsy and spun loosely. They didn't even have any pads or plastic/rubber on them. I'm not sure if they installed the wrong ones of if these are just missing the rubber. I ended up buying little circular rubber pads that you would use on the bottom of a computer or furniture or something and put those on the insides of the arms. Seems to work pretty well. I also used rubber bands between the arm and the bracket to stop them from spinning so easily. So far this has been working great!

If you check out this video from the Wynns, you'll hear that they said that their dealer wouldn't install them for them. They called fleetwood and they were able to get the parts directly and install them themselves. Although theirs seem to sound like you need to drill into the fridge. Mine just attach at the door.
