Retired and ready to do some travel. Plan to go to Alaska in 2012. Anyone thing that would help make the trip easy would be appreciated. Love to hear from you.

You've come to the right place. If you share a bit more about your rig, how you like to travel, etc... I think you'll find we have a lot of experts here who will help you out at every turn.... pardon the punn.

WElcome to the site. And congratulations on your retirement. I looked it up and see you have a 01 Winnebago Adventurer.
I suppose that is the rig you will be traveling in. What will you tow? Will you be leaving from North Carolina straight to Alaska or do you have another plan? How many people will be on your trip? Do you have a pet?
Some Winnebago owners will hop on here I am sure and some Alaska travelers to give you some hints. Tell them a little more about what you plan to do.

Take a lot of money, fuel high in Canada. If you take the freeways the speed is 65 or 70 mph. Too fast for me. Will take about 4 or 5 days to go. Get a book called milepost, it will tell you what is going on in Ak. Enjoy
