Hello all, we have boated for 20 or so years. We are new retirees and just bought our first RV a 2000 Holiday Rambler Admiral....any suggestions for us? We are in central PA and plan on heading to CA going southwest route. Plan on leaving early March.

Congrats on your purchase. My hubby is retiring in February and we are looking to purchase our first motor home. Do you have advice that you gleaned during your search...we are getting more and more confused by the day.

Thanks
Barbara

Glad you joined us. Hope you enjoy your retirement as well. Congrats on the purchase of the new to you coach. Any suggestion? Just get out there, enjoy and have fun. Been West a few times, don't know how far South your going before turning West but just keep a careful EYE on the weather. Good idea to have a weather alert radio with you. Enjoy your travels, be safe and Happy Motoring!!!

Hello lenkerb, welcome to forum and congratulations on you new Ambassador. My tip to you is that it is cheaper here in Florida than it is in California.

we visited several RV places and checked Craigslist...deciding on either a Class C or Class A...the price for the Class A privately owned looked to be the best. We did a Carfax and everything was accurately reported. Low miles of 18000 for a 2000. We are planning our first trip, heading South (out of the state of PA) to warmer temps and then to see our daughter in CA....and back again.

we have the admiral....it actually matches the colors and graphics on our Bentley pontoon! We have boating friends from the 1000 Islands who own a RV place in Florida...we will be contacting them before we leave PA...we really have to head to CA to see our daughter, son in law and grand kids!

Are you looking for campgrounds or for things to see and do? We went out West last summer and took I-40 trough Oklahoma, New Mexico and Arizona. Our final destination was Salt Lake City. We started our trip from Ohio.
