Roof Repair

Hey everyone. My name is BP3. My fiance and I want to buy our 1st RV! We found a really cool 1988 26' Holiday Rambler Alumalite w only 15,000 m on it for $7000! We love it. Everything on and in it is in fantastic condition except the roof seems to have had some water damage and was leaking a bit. Upon getting up there and checking it out the roof seemed very flimsy and I was for sure a little nervous about walking on it. With that said I was wondering if anyone had any answers to the following questions.
A) What goes into replacing the roof on this RV and would sealing it be enough to just get by?
B) Does anyone have any thoughts on this particular RV? It seems really cool to us, but like I said... this is the first time we've really considered buying one.
THANKS TO ANYONE THAT RESPONDS. WE REALLY APPRECIATE YOUR FEEDBACK!

If the roof seems flimsy or soft then your talking about possibly alot of work. That is alot of money that you won't get back out of it for the asking price. I'd either pass or get them down quite a bit more on purchase price.

Hi BP3, welcome to the forum. If it has a bad roof I would walk away from that one. Otherwise you're probably going to be into more time and money than you want to spend.

Howdy and welcome! You might consider paying an RV service specialist to check out the roof. It could be a very bad thing, or maybe not so bad. Good luck.

Good advice here. He could also give you a cost of repair if not to serious. Good luck & welcome to the group.
