We have a 2010 Four Winds Windsport 31 ft. It is our dream MH.
It does have a problem - roadwalks. We have a steer safe which should make it drive better. Has anyone else had this problem and what did you do to correct it?

rossdad;

Welcome to iRV2. We are glad you joined us. I also have never heard the term "roadwalks" I believe you need to furnish more info about your coach and repost your question in the appropriate chassis forum where I believe you will have more answers.

Our 2010 Thor West Winds Windsport 31 ft. is on a Ford chassis. Roadwalk - wants to go to right or left instead of straight down the road. Guess that is a term from the western USA. The steer safe is suppose to make it easy to drive. Thor West Winds gives us no help.

Steer Safe and Safety Plus are crutches for an underlying problems. before you start throwing money at the problem, I suggest that you do some preliminary work.

First thing to do is to load the RV as you normally travel and get the front and rear axle weights.

Now get the tire loading charts from the tire manufacturers website and adjust the tire pressure to match your loaded capacity (plus about 5 psi but not over the max pressure on the tire).

Now while loaded for normal travel, get the front end alignment checked/set at a truck alignment shop.

When you have checked your weights, are you loaded heavy on the front of rear? Id so, redistribute some of the load. Be especially careful of the fresh water and waste water tanks. If your fresh water tank is aft of the rear axle, carrying it full can cause a lighter front axle (think about a see-saw) and steering problems. Try carrying no more than 1/4 tank of fresh water and empty waste tanks. Fill and dump as close to the destination as possible.

Report back on your findings.
