I Have been an active rv.net member since 2005. Having made several hundred posts on rv.net I have practically quit posting there as there is such little new material/questions. Some of the negativity of some members was kind of a drag. Followed a link from rv.net to this forum today and here's hoping I find this forum better to my liking and hopefully some new material. So far I like the forum dedicated to brand owners. Seems like it could be a better way to get specific answers to specific problems.
We had a Jayco class C for 3 years and enjoyed that and then moved on to the Sightseer 29R last year. I'm really impressed with the rig so far. I've got nothing bad to say about the Jayco, but the Winnebago is definitely a step above it as far as design/engineering.
The Jayco cost me 4K during the first year of ownership just to make things the way I wanted them. The Winnebago has only set me back a couple of hundred (biggest mod was to change the shower to a single handle pressure/temperature control faucet). Also had to buy a TPMS but I don't count that as a mod.
Retired in April from 42 years working for Puget Sound Naval Shipyard in Bremerton, WA. Immediately went to Fort Worden SP and spent a month there as a volunteer for Friends of Fort Worden. Man, whatta hoot that was. Really enjoying meeting the folks. Will be camp hosting this fall at Washington's Dosewallips SP and hope to do more of the same in the future.
See ya round,
Don

Thanks Ken. I thought I recognized your handle from rv.net so I went and looked. A prolific poster on both sites I see!! Well done!

Don, welcome to iRV2.com. We are glad to have you join us here and we look forward to reading of your adventures and experiences. I has been a couple of years since I have been to the other site but I know you will enjoy this one as much as you like getting out in your Sightseer and meeting new folks. Take care and keep us posted.

I've been a member of RV.NET since 2003 and I have to agree with the OP about RV.NET getting old. A lot of the same subjects over and over.
But what really has me frustrated is all the censorship/editing that the moderators are doing to posts and never a reason as to why. I'm also getting extremely tired of having to be 100% PC ALL THE TIME. The censorship is just out of control.
The worst of the moderators has to JohnnyT - that man is on a power trip! I have pretty much stopped even looking at RV.NET. The last straw was I got a PM from JohnnyT saying my signature was offending and was not PC and that if I did not change my signature he would and I could loose my ability to have a signature. Well before I read the PM he had already changed it!
My signature contained this: 01.20.13 Just how offending is that anyway?
I'm not one to use awful language or go trolling for an argument. But the censorship at RV.NET has forced me to stop using their site.
Anyone else have similar experiences on RV.NET? I know of another RVing site that was started just because of the censorship over at RV.NET.
I've decided I'm done with RV.NET
