Talking RVFuture From Georgia

Hello,

Wow, there are a lot of new members joining daily.

I've been researching and binge-watching YouTube on all things RV'ing for over a year now, maybe closer to two. I've shopped around several area dealerships deciding what I want in an RV. I've decided on a mid-size TT. Maybe 23 to 30 ft. Though I can't find any in the southeast, I keep going back to an OutdoorRV TT. My plans are not to RV too much in the southeast, but rather in the northwest, among other places.

I'm dreaming of potentially making this more of a full-time gig in several years but want to get my hands wet now with local area camping. I'm trying to make the best possible choice up front, and only once.

Insulation, insulation, insulation. That, among other things, is what I'm after. Naturally good quality workmanship, or the best I can afford, is at the top of the list. I'm also looking forward to boondocking when possible, so there'll be Solar and good batteries involved with this game-plan.

I've tent camped and hiked frequently enough and was in the Army in a previous life as well as RV camped a little as a child.

I look forward to reading more of these forums to feed my current addiction.

Thanks,

RVFuture

Hi RVFuture,

Welcome to the Forum! Addiction is right, we all have felt it.

You are doing this the right way, research, look, look again, research some more and then wait for the right rig. The possibility of getting the RIGHT rig the first time and never buying another is difficult to achieve. You always see something you wish you had gotten instead.

Floorplan seem to be a big thing for a lot of people. You have narrowed it down. I would say do as many RV shows as you can, they are all over the US, go to a dealership and tell the salesman you want to sit a while and just sit in one. Lay on the couch, the bed, go into the shower, can you move around and wash yourself.

You get the idea. This is a wonderful lifestyle, keep looking, you'll know it when you walk in it. If you aren't sold on new, check out PPL Motorhomes for floorplans. They are easy to see there. I would go with the longer length because as you live in it, you will need more space.

Good luck and enjoy the hunt.
