Saying hello to everyone as we get ready to take the plunge into Full time RVing

Hello to everyone. This is Susan and Arwinder checking in. We have been long time lurkers at IRV2 and are finally getting ready to take the plunge into full time RVing. We are heading out next week to pick up and drive home our new Entegra Anthem 44B.
Even though we are newbies and have so much to learn, we are excited about our upcoming adventures. We look forward to meeting wonderful people and sharing experiences along the way.

Ha ha....well that RV kept getting bigger and bigger each time we looked for one. Also....full timing just seems to appeal to our love of the great outdoors. Probably a mid life crisis. The family is placing bets on how long we stay out there. Thanks for the welcome!

Wow, starting out big. Have fun and enjoy your travels. If you ever pass through the central portion of CA give a wave to us.

Welcome to the forum and full time life. Nov 3rd will be our 2 year anniversary full time. The time flew by and we're still having a great time. Bet high with the family yourself. Don't know 1 full timer that doesn't love it. I'm betting you will too.

We are also newbies looking for our full time rig.
What drew you to the entegra.
We are leaning towards a class A diesel but haven't committed yet

Orinfe,

It was a two year journey for us with a steep learning curve, especially since we had never RVed before.

We were driven towards Entegra based on our research on the internet and visits to the dealerships and RV shows. Like everyone else, we struggled through choices such as Class A versus Fifth Wheel, length of RV, buying new versus used, the different brands and models offered, and ultimately settled on the Entegra Anthem 44B.

Since we are planning to be RVing for the long haul, we felt that a diesel pusher was the way to go.

We liked the fit and finish of the EC and the standard features offered lined up well with our needs. The two year warranty appealed to us as well.
Ultimately, you cannot go wrong with any of the top brands. Besides Entegra, we looked at Newmar (2nd choice), American Coach, Winnebago, Monaco and Tiffin etc).

Budget and specific preferences will lead you to your prefered choice and model.

Best of luck with your search ,

Susan and Arwinder

Talking

Thanks for the info. I also kinda liked the Tiffin...a little pricey though.

Where did you go for insurance. Is it expensive if you rv fulltime.
We have rv'd before, but on vacations with a 30' fifth wheel, 4 kids, critters etc...

Looking forward to doing it fulltime in a nicer unit and just the two of us.

Bill

Bill,
Apologies for the delay in responding. We just back home after an exhilarating trip in our new coach. We had a steep learning curve but are feeling pretty comfortable driving it considering our newbie status.

Regarding your insurance question, we worked with Dougherty & Associates, Inc.
in Sioux Falls, SD and ended up going with Progressive. It is pricey (in the 3k range) for the year but a lot cheaper compared to what we are paying for home insurance in California.

We have Progressive insurance on our rig through Costco. If you're a Costco member check them out and see what they say. They beat everyone by a mile for coverage. Happy travels.
