Hello everyone. I am a semi-new member living in Lompoc California. I retired from the Air Force in 1985 with 20 years service and will retire from my current job on Vandenberg AFB 1 February 2012. My wife and I are planning a motorhome trip to the east coast and back starting the first week in April. We plan on traveling across I-40 to Amirillio Texas then south east to Lufkin Texas where our daughter lives. From there to Alabama, Atlanta, Daniel Island South Carolina, North to Maryland, West to Dayton Ohio (Air Force Museum), Topeka Kansas (family history research), Denver, Las Vegas then back home. About 6-8 weeks round trip. Following our trip I will be getting into my hobby of "scrolling". For those un-familiar with the term, I take different kinds of wood and with my scroll saw, turn the wood into many different items from signs, key chains, puzzles to toys for the grandkids.
I really enjoy this forum and have gotten lots of great help and advice here from great people. Happy Holidays to all.

Welcome to this site. Did my Minuteman Missile training at Vandenberg in 1968 and back for a missile shot in 1972.

Hi and welcome to the forum.
The Air Force Museum was an every year school field trip for me growing up in Dayton. In addition to the AF Museum, the Springfield Municipal Airport has a great replica of the Wright B Flyer and the Wright Brothers house is over off West 3rd Street (would need a car to see the House).
