SoCal's newest RV-er

Hello, I just bought a 2007 Fleetwood 38L diesel and am looking for some guidance regarding the proper forum to ask new guy questions in. And, maybe get some insight on a reputable RV service center in the San Diego area.

My current issue is TV/SAT related as I am trying to set up my Dish Network system. Any helpful info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Hi and

If you are near Anaheim, RV Satellite Systems, Robert Petree did a great job of resolving all my issues.

His number is (714) 630-7276

I can recommend Rick's Trailer Supply in San Clemente . They did some work on our 5th wheel awhile back and our motorhome is there now for some minor warranty work authorized by Newmar. Clean, modern shop with qualified technicians. Not cheap (what is ?) but they have treated us fairly.

Thanks for the recommendations. Anaheim is a couple hour drive, but San Clemente is a lot closer. I'll have to give them a call.

Thanks,

Hal

Howdy and welcome! You might post your specific questions in the Technology section of the forum... Technology: Internet, TV, Satellite, Cell Phones, etc. - iRV2 Forums

Also, be sure to check out the Fleetwood Owners Section and any other section that interests you.

Welcome to a wonderful world and freedom. Most of what we learned was through trial and error. From our first unit in the early 80'd to the unit we currently have for the past 11 years. We struggled with a few electrical issues but once they were handled, by a professional, we feel confident our rig is ready to go at a moments notice. We are in the Inland Empire, Riverside, CA., and have gone to the standard repair shops with their standard expensive repair rates. Frankly, most of them were glorified parts changers, then we reached out to other RV'ers and found what I can describe as nothing more than down home RV mechanic. It took some looking around but we found an unlikely place who takes very good care of the rig when needed.
Keep working the network in your area, I'm confident you'll find the right place, it might take a few parts changers to find that mechanic you need. Also go on line and pull up the info on your particular unit, that also was a big help.

Best of luck, safe travels,

The Schaadts

Hi Hal! Welcome to IRV2! It's good to have you with us! As already stated, you can post technical questions in that specific area, and general motorhome questions in either the Motorhome area or the Fleetwood owner's forum. You'll get much better results in the appropriate areas than here since not too many folks hang out in this welcome area. Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Wecome from north San Diego (Escondido).

You might be intersted in the FMCA Western Region Rally at Riverside/Indio in January.

Welcome to the forum.
I would recommend in this order.....

1) San Diego RV Center in El Cajon, Ca. 1-619-561-3531
Large service dept. I had them to repair a entrance door.
2) Chula Vista Trailer Supply in Chula Vista, Ca. 1-619-420-2048
Harold is Honest as the day is long. Not too much repair.
3) Warford's Mobile RV Repair in Lakeside, Ca, 1-619-443-0004
Robie is a little pricey but, he's very honest! And he will come to you.
4) RV Specialists Inc. in San Diego,Ca. 1-858-455-9898
They are honest used them once they did a good job.
5) South Coast RV, Chula Vista, Ca. 1-619-476-7195
I used them but would not go back.

We were going out of town and had a problem getting our entrance door on our Fleetwood Jamboree 26Q to open. It wouldn't we called them on our way out of town about it the fixed it for us. Also they were very reasonable. in price. I would go back there, if need be.
Hope these help.

Again, many thanks to all for the insight. I'll check out the technology forums and start calling around in the morning to the RV repair centers. Agreed that most repair facilities in the auto world are over priced. I imagine that it holds true in the RV world, too. Hopefully I will be able to find a mechanic I can trust early.

Merry Christmas to all!
