Hello we are Pat and Galen from Amarillo, Tx. Just bought a 03 Dolphin 35 ft. model 5342 with W-22 chasis and 8100 chevy vortec(gulp, gulp). Only experience we have was with Jayco popup when kids were little. Not only do I not know about RVing but do not know about this type of website. Don't know what a thread is or a tag and only guessing what a forum is. Obviously will have lots of questions.

Congratulations on your jump to RVing! You will LOVE this website! There is so much information here and the folks are so friendly - but that's what RVer's are known for!

Enjoy the ride!

Pat & Galen:

A big WELCOME to this iRV2 "forum." Hope ya find it helpful. Now....as far as what things are:

Forums, Threads, etc.: Forums are not just found on RV websites, but often a group of folks having similar interests decide to start a website and include, on that website, a feature called a "FORUM" where this group can "post" thoughts, ideas, discussion topics, and/or questions that others in that group can or may want to respond to by "replying" to what one of there members might post. For example someone might want to type a post asking about, or wanting to discuss, say...PEANUTS,....or...FINANCE,...or...SATELLITES, ....or...WHATEVER they might want to talk about. Now the person typing the original post becomes the "Original Poster" (abbrev.= OP). And....they've started what becomes a thread of conversation. To keep things straight, most group forums organize their forum into logical subject areas. For example in this iRV2 forum it is organized into subjects having to do with RVing (of course) but into sub topic areas having to do with "COMMUNITY RULES/INFO", and "CAMPING/TRAVEL ROUTES,etc.", and "OWNERS CORNER" (to talk w. others who might own the same kind of rig you have), etc. etc.

Anyway if ya want to post a topic, first look through the sub section areas of the entire forum to decide under which area your post might fit the best. Then, click on that area, and click on a button which says something like "New Post", or "New Topic" and when a window opens, just type in your post, and submit it as you did.

Oh, by the way you wondered what a "tag" was. Well, I'm not sure either, but from my reference point, a "tag" refers to a "tag axel" which often is that 2nd rear axel behind the rear axel on those motorhomes (abbrev.=MH). Don't know for sure until I see how the term "tag" is used. OH WELL.....

Again....WELCOME TO THE GANG. Have fun, and post often.

Steve & Lynette

Welcome and congratulations on your new (to you) coach! You've made the first right move by finding and engaging this forum. A little over 3 years ago I was thinking of purchasing my first ever RV too and have learned so much here! Now, we have sold our house and have been full timing for the past 9 months.

Don't let the size of your new coach intimidate you but do respect it and learn all you can to build your confidence.

Best of Luck...
