Thanks for a great RV Forum. Especially, thanks to the Moderators, Administrators and contributing Members.

I am vigorously looking for a 2008 RV to travel "full time" from "sea to shining sea."

Range of candidates have been from small, such as Coach House Platinum 261XL on Ford chassis/engine to hefty diesel pushers including Newmar Kountry Star KS3623 on Spartan chassis with Cummins engine. I have been on board many of the candidates at their dealers in California.

I would greatly appreciate thoughts from Forum members. Thank you.

Welcome to what I consider the best RV forum on the web!

A few things to consider in your search for the perfect rig for you...
1.Will you be fulltiming by yourself...or will there be others in the rig with you? That may also dictate the size that you need.
2.Will you have a toad...and if so..how much does it weigh? (Check the towing capacity of the rigs you are considering)
3.Is the floorplan a livable option for you? You need to spend a lot of time in it to make sure it "fits" you ...including the bathroom/toilet space.

4. Where will you need to go for "warranty" work ...and how many places can you go for that type of work?

I would like to suggest you give the rigs a thorough test drive...steep grades are a must.

With all that said..I will tell you that I love our Diplomat with the full wall slide.

S2SS, glad you are here and we'd lover to help where we can. M-Mom has already posted some great ideas and questions.

My wife like to run the sales person off and spend an hour or so in the RV with just the two of us. She sort of plays house and pretends to fix a meal, see where you put the groceries, silverware, dishes, etc. Next is the bath and make sure you can fit ....sit on the pot and see if there is room to stand up. Try on the shower, is there space for the towels, toiletries and bed linens. Is there room for clothing for the seasons you will be gone.

Once you start looking, you will find they do some really dumb things with RV designs.

Take your time and do not get pressured into the first one that is nice and shiny.

Once you get close to finding the right one, bring it up for discussion for those that have or had one for more advice. Good luck and enjoy the hunt!
