I have used a soft cover on two motorhomes. The one with the felt like inner surface caused the least wear on the corners. But it still wore through at points.
Big problem is it is a roayal pain to put on. It worked best with one on the ground and one up top.
If you don;t it it piulled snug, the wind can wipe it around and damage the RV and/or the cover.
