Time for a change....

Hi everyone.

I'm Greg just about to join the family of RVers. I've been in my corporate desk job for over 5 years now with skyrocketing rents in San Francisco and have become full of the city rush and looking forward to changing my lifestyle to being much more mobile.

I'm getting a 2016 Thor Outlaw 37RB, keeping my bicycle and motorcycle in the back while pulling my Jeep Wrangler behind during relocations.

I'd like to keep it stationary (relatively) while I continue to work my stressful corporate job earning enough money to take some TIME off and travel around the country exploring something other than how many dust bunnies are under my desk and eliminating my hour-long commute each direction.

Excited cannot begin to define how I'm feeling about this change, as I'm being guided by my Sage and Cosmos through this transition, and any constructive experienced guidance is greatly appreciated, like finding great inexpensive locations to settle the beastly Class A toy hauler for some short times in the SF Bay area, preferably south around San Jose.

I'll be chatting up a few of you as I search for others nearby who have do the same or similar thing in the not-so-distant past.

Happy RVing,
gFog

You may want to check into Joining the Elks. Usually $20 to $25 a night.

They have RV parking all around the country and some in the San Jose area.

And welcome to the Outlaw family.
See:

and
http://www.irv2.com/forums/f121/outl...es-149108.html
and even:
http://www.irv2.com/forums/f121/outl...gs-232399.html

You might be the first RB owner here (but there are some MD owners - pretty close). Hope you share all about it.

AND Just FYI...TMC's (and really all brands) making these RV's as fast as they can with a boom in the RV industry...30% higher sales than 2014.
So, PLEASE do a VERY complete and thorough Pre-Deliver Inspection. Check everything! Take nothing for granted (i.e. one Outlaw owner here found that the tub and lavatory sink were not fully connected).
These RV's are just like a tiny-house on wheels - and they have a whole bunch of electronics that the average house does not have.
If buying distant from your home, try to spend the night in the RV at the dealership's lot...testing EVERTHING.

TMC has very good corporate customer service, but they rely on dealership to enact any fix. Knowledge is power to prevent getting "stuck" by a dealer that isn't too good at service.

Best Luck

Thanks everyone for the welcomes. UPDATE: I just agreed with my dealership on a price for my RB in So Cal. We are getting all the paperwork lined up over the next few days and I hope to take receipt of it early Sep during a trip to SD and drive it home after testing everything out locally prior to my drive.

I stopped by the Elks, which is a block from my office and will be joining them for more than a place to camp. As a Veteran looking to support more Vets, they are a great place to start along side my support for stopsoldiersuicide.org. Thank you for guiding me there.

Thanks! I'm buying in TX, driving to Scottsdale over 2 days and in SD by Sep 6 for a new tattoo in Pacific Beach.

I'll check everything i can before leaving TX. I'll work a night in at Austin before heading out of the state.

Working on shrinking the pics to the approved size for the site. Look for the posts soon.

You guys have already made me feel great for making the decision.

I joined to use the RV facilities when we visit our grandkids. Wound up working a ton of time in our local Lodge.

Good group of people in the elks.

Here is a list of all their RV parks. Always call ahead as some of them have closed.
