Time for a new gig?

Hi folks. I have been lurking around for a while and decided to join. I am in early retirement at 57 and the wife is still working but could retire at anytime. We are contemplating a late model class A to hit the road. Not full time but for extended periods.

I have spent many years pounding the pavement in big ole Peterbilts so the yearn of the open road still beckons. I have watched older friends has they move into retirement and have learned that if you have an urge to do something, you best get at it right away or it ain't gonna happen. The wife is always game for an adventure. So the search begins.

I look forward to learning from other forum members and can contribute a few things especially on the mechanical side. Let the learning begin.

Welcome and good luck in your hunt for an appropriate rig.

IMO the most important thing to look for is Floor Plan. If you select the floor plan that works for you and you like you will be able to find a solid rig to enjoy the travel.

Looking is always the best part!

So far it has been interesting reading opinions from "lifestyle-cost be damned" to "if I analyze it enough-I can't do it" posts in purchasing threads.

I expect we will go late model used to escape the initial depreciation, always a wise financial move. Like with anything, new is always tempting. I am down to a couple brands and will patiently wait for the right coach at the right price.

Until then, I will start poking my nose in a few threads on the forum.

Thanks for the welcomes!

Our attitude is let the kids inherit used toys, if they want new they can work for them like we did.

Whether we buy new or used we purchase what fits us best and what we will enjoy the most. We worked and saved for years so now we can do what pleases us.
