Being new to RV ownership myself I learned a lot in a short period of time just by reading here. I feel a lot better getting my experience from others rather the the school of hard knocks.

Hello from Florida and a Big Welcome to the iRV2 Forum.

Wife and I have been full timing since 05 and haven't gotten back to Vancouver Is. since visiting prior to retiring in 05 during a two week vacation and before we had an RV. In fact, we came up to Victoria from Port Angeles but then, the next day, took the ferry from Nanaimo to Vancouver after running out of time on our vacation so we didn't get to spend any time exploring your beautiful Vancouver Island. We sure want to return but don't know how much of a problem it might be to get our 45 foot motorhome and towed car out to the Island and how tough it is to find camping out there. Need to research more. If ya have any advice, maybe ya can find time to make some suggestions.

Anyway, WELCOME again.

Steve & Lynette

I have done alot of reading over the winter on here & found lots of helpful information. My sister & her family live in Nanaimo so I am familiar with that part of the Island. We hope to be out there sometime this year. We are thinking that Victoria may be a nice place for the winter...time will tell. Again, welcome to the site from another newbie. We just started living in our RV full time this week here in soggy flooded, southern Manitoba.

Welcome, Tom. There will be an iRV2 western region meet and greet in Anacortes May 12- 15 and Pioneer Trails CG on highway 20 just south of where the spur into Anacortes separates from the main drag.

Do a search on it and we'd love to have you join us. I'll be driving in, since I can't see spending the CG fee when I live just 4 miles away! I had spinal surgery a month ago, and we'll be delaying our season start, so I prrobably won't re-start the on-road portion of my RV insurance until mid-June.

Washington State Ferries has opened the "spring" service schedule to Anacortes - one trip a day.
