Well I started out on an adventure. But it was short lived when my tranny blew 68 miles from Madras Oregon. I sold everything to get this set up, in hopes that my daughter and I can have a summer adventure. But hey anyone would like to give us hope, please do!

Don't give up ! Three hours into our first trip in our first motorhome several years ago, resulted in a tractor trailer ripping out the entire right side of our rig. ( he was texting ), BUT, aside from being devistated, we decided the best course would be to let it be repaired and climb back up. It was a great decision. We have had many great trips since then, and never think back.

A blown tranny is all part of the adventure, maybe the one thing your daughter will remember when she has children of her own. Get it fixed somehow and keep going, you won't have many summers together and you can't get back the ones you lost. Vicariously, the grandkids will do, that's our plan anyway.

LOL. Yep sold everything. !993 Ford F350 Duelly 460 motor. 1998 32 footer King Of The Road. Wanted to be a full timer for a bit. My home wasn't much, since it was a mobile home. But the dream was to finish my novel on the road.

Welcome to IRV2! It's great to have you join us!

Sure sorry about your misfortune! That's a real bummer! Don't give up, most of us who've been RV for a while have faced challenges that seemed just too much at the time. Hang in there!

Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!

Can we Hear more about your situation?

The adventure doesn't begin until something goes wrong. There are rebuilt units online for $1400 and used ones for $700. But not all trans problems require all that. What is happening with the trans?

Keep you head up.

I remember a trip to Kings Canyon 1997, Drove our motor home up a switchback road 1st gear all the way, just a day trip. The sun was getting a little low ,so we decided to head back down. No movement any direction. Called good sam for a tow, not until the next day. Park ranger said not to worry. We had the most beautiful campsite, The whole parking lot to ourselves. Then had 3 days in Fresno while tranny was fixed, We explored the middle California Coast. The kids still talk about the wonderful time we had .
