Red face truck driving man

hi, everybody.. my name is doug but on screne here you will know me as nanc.. that my wife,it's her email so I named it nanc.I was a truck driver for 12 years cross country.I've seen snow up to the top of a motel window in NY, sand stoms in new mexico. There's not to many places I haven't seen in the US. Now I can't belive we bought a motor home. As my wife has gone with me on a few trips into canada and FL but after a week in a 18 wheeler she ready for home...This is what she looked like when I said, 2 days we'll be home My idea was to get a motor home for weekend travel for us and preacher and corkie our dogs. The idea was to buy a old one and work on it as time passed. so we did, 1986 winnie bago elandan. we bought it in april 2010. as a truck drive spending money on this thing was no prolem. little did I know that heart surgery was going to to re tire me at 58 years old.. so we are still in process of working on this thing. but we have used it for almost 2 years and we enjoy it. needs a paint job but it will come, see you guys an gals out there. If you run across a tan 35 ft that needs a paint job floating around in SC, stop in we'll have a glass of sweet tea or a coke and tell some stories about some things you might not belive but my wife might let me tell a bout hookers at the truck stops. be safe out there as we truckers would say

nanc, just seen your post, sorry it took so long to reply. I too am a x-truck driver. Back surgery took me out. I was a Owner Operater and was leased to Mercer. Hauled a lot of military freight during Desert Storm. Congrats on the MH. We're located in NC. Oh yeah, welcome to the forum!

hi,guys. just read your post. people always think trucker make all the money. well I'm not going to say that I didn't make money because I did but when you make good money you think it's going to last for ever. as you guys know nothing last for ever. I've heard people say all you do is sit up there and drive what's the big deal..yea putting in 70 hours a week being gone from home from 5 to 7 days at a time.. I don't know if you guys wives are like mine, she said to me, I know we are going to miss the money but I would rather have you than the money...

Hi Nanc, Had the same coach as yours an 89 many years ago. Traveled up and down the coast. Hope yours lasts as long as mine, and your trips are many and trouble free. Safe travels and welcome to the forum.

Hello Nanc! Welcome to IRV2. Hope you and your wife enjoy many years of RVing. Check out the Carolina Campers group. It's a sub group in the Southeast Region. We try and camp once a month. This month is Myrtle Beach and next month Mt. Airy in NC. It's always a good time. We hope to meet you on the road sometime. Safe travels.
