We did it!!!!!

Hello Everyone! We brought home our "new to us" 2001 National Sea Breeze yesterday! We are officially RV owners!

I am very nervous! I have pulled big horse trailers all over the country, but this feels very different!

We are a family of 4. We have two boys, 8 and 2. The oldest is a Judo player and we are going to the Jr Olympics at the end of the summer, then on to the National Championships! A two week trip! I had the reservations all made at the hotels and we started discussing the option of the motorhome.. We just made a quick stop by a local dealer (where a good friend is a salesman) and it just so happens the Sea Breeze had just come up from the back of the lot to be sold.

Its 30.5 ft and I think will be the perfect size to start out with.. I am SO EXCITED!!!!!

There is so much to learn! And this is a great place to do just that.

We have two vehicles, a 2007 GMC Yukon 4x4 and a 2010 Toyota Tundra 4x4. Wondering which vehicle would make a better toad????

Thank you all for the help! I am positive I will become a great pain in the rear with all the questions I have!!!

Congratulations on the New Rig, hope you have many miles and hours of enjoyment from it. Welcome to irv2, you have found the most usefull RV site on the web. As far as a choice of toads, I personally would use the smaller of the two you have, be sure to check the towing weight and also make sure your toad can be towed 4 down. Again Welcome and enjoy your rig.

What you need to know is the weight of these vehicles and the tow rating of the Sea Breeze. The Tundra does not show it as being towable in the 2010 Dinghy Towing Guide. The Yukon would be towable however it also weighs 5,860 which exceeds the tow rating of the Sea Breeze. What you need is a smaller dinghy something like a Vue or a Equinox.

Thank you so much! Sounds like it might be worth just renting a vehicle when we get there. Unless we can find a good used, mainly affordable one! lol

We are ready to start enjoying! Thank you! We are taking it somewhere this weekend for Fathers Day!

Congrats from a fellow National owner. I agree the Yukon is too heavy and the Toyota probably can't be towed 4 down. Jeeps are fun if you want something easy to tow.

What about just driving the rig around as needed? Parking might be an issue but I've found if I get wherever I'm going a bit early I can usually find a spot. It's really not that much bigger than a Yukon XL you know. And then you've got all your comforts with you. Toss a bike rack on the trailer hitch and you can ride the bikes in to your destination easily. Then your son is all warmed up for the competition too.

Congrats on your new rig! Looks great. Very nice for a first time buy. We bought our first rv when my boys were 13 and 15. Should have gotten one sooner like you have.

We might just do that Bob! Thanks for your advice! We will be at the RV park for the most part. Driving back and forth to the competition site.. then stopping off at Disney World. Unless the deal of the century comes along on a toad.. I think this is a great idea.

I am so excited that we went ahead and did this! Our boys are so thrilled they can't stand it either! ha ha Maybe one day we can graduate to one like yours!
