We now have an RV
I found several good articles and forum posts on this site so I decided to join.
About a month ago my wife, Janet, and I purchased a 2002 Fleetwood 34M diesel pusher. It has low mileage, a bit over 57000 miles, and, except for some minor caulking, seems to be in good shape. It has 2 slide outs, both about 18" deep. We bought it from a respected dealer in Montgomery who had taken it on trade.
We are graduating from a 72 Safari Airstream which we restored to a functional level and have been using for the last 8 years. This is a pretty significant change! And no, we haven't decided what to do with the Airstream.
We have taken it out 3 times so far, each time we have learned something new about it, some good, some required a call to the dealer. It seems to get blown around a lot more than the truck and Airstream, I am still not totally comfortable driving it, especially through construction zones and rush hour traffic.
I have been concerned about what needs to be checked out. I would like to take it someplace that will go over it and tell me if anything critical needs attention.
I greased it after looking over the receipt from the oil change and lube which had marked the chassis lubrication as "sealed". I didn't find anything rubber missing in critical joints, the airbags look ok, the brakes and related mechanisms also appear ok.
I am still working on getting documentation on the workings of the Fleetwood. I have the chassis, and engine manuals. The owners manual is sort of useless, it has almost no pictures in it and it reads like it assumes that the dealer will fill in the details when the coach was delivered. Fleetwood has sent me plumbing and wiring diagrams but I need to see if I can get more details.
So that is the story. I have lots of questions which I will probably post after looking through what is already here.

Tom;
We are happy you joined us. Congratulations on the purchase of your new to you 2002 Fleetwood. There is a gold mine of information available to you here just by asking. RVing is a ongoing learning experience IMHO. I have owned my present coach for 4 years and I am still learning. Post often and share your RV adventures with us.
Don
