Hi We are brand new to all forums so I apologize in advance for seeming dense! We are hauling our 36 ft fifth wheel to Florida from Michigan this November. I have many questions of course, first being the route to take. We are traveling down I-65 in hopes of avoiding as many mountains as possible. We have only hauled our 5th wheel around Michigan camping. We have a Chevy 2500 HD silverado (diesel). Anyone have great ideas on what to avoid or not for this trip? Also I have to get new tires for the camper too! It has the Goodyear G614 Load G on there right now. Repalce with the same? THANKS To any who respond! Signed, Jo, the worry wort wife...

Glad you're aboard Jo. There are a number of threads about tires here. Just type tires into the google search window on the tool bar above and leave it set to IRV2. Sure you will find a good afternoon of reading. As far as the route, take your time and enjoy the scenery. Enjoy your adventures and be safe.

Thanks yes I shall look at the tire threads. My Hubby and I want to live part time in our fifth Wheel in sunny Florida (original idea, I know) so we want it to live there until we can live there with it. We plan on visiting it serveral times a year until that happens. Michigan winters are brutal. We play music as a duet, look for us in the Keys, "Better Than One"... Thanks again, Jo

wearedanjo,
Welcome to the forum. Lot of info here on anything. Take a look around and read some of the old threads to learn.
I also live in Michigan and I agree with you about the winters. I hate them! Three years left to work and then we are out of here in the winter time. Summer is beautiful but winter, YUCK!
Good luck with your travels. Hope you find a great place to land down in Florida and have a safe trip getting there.
Lynne

Jo,
Seems to me that I have read some horror stories about the condition of I-65 in Indiana. You may want to ask on the Locations and Info Forum.

If at all possible, I'd route my trip away from Louisville, KY.
They're working on new bridges, redoing road interchanges, building new interchanges, etc, etc. Right now they've got three or four lanes in southern Indiana funneled down to two lanes.
In other words, a real traffic nightmare even if one is not towing a camper and it's supposed to be in place up into late next year.
Just google "big squeeze on I-65" and read up on it
