Talking WEIGHT

I am a first time user of this forum,and new rver.i have a ford f250 sd 2011 rated at 12,200 lbs towing capacity. (4x4 2wd) 6.2l gas engine. My 5th wheel is a heartland 2011 big horn model 2985 rl rated at 10,352 lbs. Dry weight. My question is how much weight can i carry above the 5th wheel dry weight ?

Croy, welcome to the forum and RVing. Can't help you with that question, as I have no experience at all with towing travel trailers. Just wanted to say welcome.

Croy;

Welcome to iRV2. Sorry I can't answer your question either as i have no experience in towables. I might suggest you repost your question in the travel trailer and 5th wheel forum HERE . We have a wealth of information here and I am sure your questions will be answered.

Hi CROY &

I would suggest you read the info on THIS WEBSITE & use its formulas to calculate your numbers.

Ditto on what Lori said. Your F250 will be limited on pin weight due to the GVWR.
