Hi to all. Just joined a few days ago. We are Virgil and Sherri Phillips from Northeast Ohio. I believe we know at least one other family here (George and Jodi Miklas). We camp in our 2004 27 ft. Dutchmen Sport Lite travel trailer which we haul with our 1998 Durango currently. We have 1 son together (age 13) and are raising two of Virgil's grandkids who are 14 and 12. We also take along our australian shepherd/husky mix dog Tubby. We like to camp in family campgrounds as well as state parks and just returned from a trip to Meadville Pa at a campground called Brookdale for their Halloween themed weekend. We are looking at camping at least two more times this year 1) at Cutty's in Louisville and 2) at Beaver Creek State Park.
Virgil is retired and enjoys fishing and hunting. Sherri works fulltime as a secretary/financial aid officer for a school that teaches practical nursing and enjoys sewing, machine embroidery, clay pot crafting and computer/desktop publishing crafts. As a family we enjoy camping, swimming, bicycling, and more.
We enjoy camping with other likeminded families and already belong to one yahoo group of campers whom we enjoying spending time with both in camping and on the off season.
Welp that's about all for us. Looking forward to getting to know the group better.
Sherri

Welcome to irv2. You will find some great people here. You might already be aware of the Great Lakes Region which we are a part of. Keep an eye open in that forum for times that we get together. The group that is close to you is called the Pond Piggies. We were at Brookdale a couple of weeks ago. Might have even been the weekend you were there. We were at Cutty's over Memorial Day and usually go there a couple of times a year. It's nice and close for when we are just looking for a short trip.

We're glad you found us. Welcome
The Pond Piggies would love to have you join us, we're always looking for new faces to add to our group. Feel free to show up when you see we've got a get together scheduled.
L-
P.S. How'd you guys like Brookdale? Dave & I have that one pencilled in to visit next season. Always can use an opinion from someone that's been.

How is it one careless match can start a forest fire but it takes a whole box to start a campfire?

Thanks for the welcomes!!
We've met George and Jodi Miklas at Paradise Lake this past May for a campout and in an email at some point George mentioned the Pond Piggies group and Cutty's Sunset for camping so that's what drew us to this site so we'll be looking forward to hearing about Pond Piggie campouts and attending with you all. We can never have too many camping friends.
Brookdale is a nice campground - very family oriented - this was our second visit there and we plan to go again next year for their Halloween weekend.
Thanks again for the welcome!
Sherri

Welcome! Well, that caught my eye, as I do DTP from home, as a job now that I've retired, and computer crafting both for fun and sales. I wonder if I'm on any of the crafting boards with your wife, such as the PALS group. I'm heading to PA in two weeks for a computer crafting convention. Funny if we already "know" each other!
