We're Official
Our New home is titled, tagged and inspected. We have been looking for some time and now that we have our MH we are coming out of hiding.
We are going to be full timing as soon as our bricks and sticks sell in a 1990 Allegro Diesel.
Glad to be here and looking forward to the journey!

Congratulations dangofamily,
While you are waiting for your home to sell, now is a good time to take a few trips in your new to you rig and see if all is well. I took a 2400 mile shake down cruise on mine ( I know, a little excessive) but I quickly found any problems and also found what modifications needed to be done for full time use.
I think you will have a great time with your new life style decision.
Have fun and good luck.

Thank you for the warm welcome! We are still purging the last of the "stuff" but as soon as we are done we are planning a short trip (about 250 mi each way) to shake down as you say. Do you think that is enough? Can't go too far when that mortgage is still sucking up all our money. I can't wait to feel completely free of it!

That should be enough to get a feel for it. I had a mechanical problem after driving 1,000 miles, not major, but glad I was able to have it fixed at our destination.

dangofamily,
We're waiting for the same thing. Now considering owner financing using a lease/purchase agreement. Look into that if you are in a position to take your money one payment at a time.
You avoid becoming a bank with closing, foreclosure, & expelling from the property laws that act like a noose around the owners neck. Plus you are more likely to get close to your asking price if someone has a down payment and their credit is ruined by a previous foreclosure.

Thanks Dave. We recently heard about owner finance. We will talk with our realtor to see what the options are here. Sounds like it could be faster answer for us. I totally agree about the noose of ownership. Boy the system is so good at making that noose are like it is supposed to be there.

We tried to sell our home but the market is horrible and we were not willing to let it go cheap. Our realator is handling the property and we just rented it to a very nice couple. The realator screened, did credit check, drew up the lease and will handle anything that comes up. We are now not only free of our mortgage for a year, but are making a little bit of money as well.
