Greetings from the shores of Lake MI! New to all of this. Been a boater for 30 years and it's time for a land yacht and so the infamous search starts! Not a clue! (Geez, no one has said that before!) We've been looking at diesel pushers. We went to our first RV show this past weekend and looked at Newmar, HR, Fleetwood, Monaco etc. Liked them all and disliked them all for various reasons! We were amazed at the lack of attention from sales people. I thought those guys onl y sold boats! Since retirement is a few years off and we have to sell the 38 footer first, I have lots of time to learn althought there are a lot of similarities i.e. systems, engine(s) etc. Thanks in advance for help and advice. I'm sure I'll need it!

Rich

Hi Rich and welcome to iRV2 and the world of land yachts.

I think the same sale people sell both kinds of yachts. Or maybe they both go to the same sales school.

I am in west michigan as well. I bought my first class a motor home this year. I have sailed a 30 foot boat for 30 years, so transition has been pretty easy. I bought a used Newmar diesel pusher at 39 feet. It has been great this year. I am new to the forum but have followed it for a couple of years. Good luck on your search, there is a couple of good dealers in Grand Rapids that you may want to review. Good luck on your search.

I couldn't stand the term, "former boater", so we kept the boat (2000 Bayliner 3258) too. Summer on the boat, winter in the motor home, avoid the house as much as possible.

Welcome. I'm new here too, but I sure like what I see!
