What did I do? Bought a motor home at auction!

Just bought a 2000 forest river Georgetown 33 foot with a Ford V 10 motor home. Bought this at a car auction thought it was a fair price, feeling a little overwhelmed being a money pit. Itís actually in fairly good shape little things need to be addressed having it re-sealed Roof vents and seams including the sides. 44,000 miles on the V 10.

Iíve owned 30 foot tow behind Jayco travel trailer for eight years and only use it a couple times a year. I hope by having a motorhome my wife and I can get up and get out of the house here in Beaverton Oregon. We are kind of homebodies and I really would like to get out and do more, so Iím looking for ideas in the northwest to take the RV and do some Traveling. We both work, so weakend travel to start. Iím an avid scuba diver, mostly at the Oregon coast for Dungeness crab.

If anyone has any ideas for newbies would love to hear them . I am currently working on issues with the radio not working thinking of putting a CD stereo and would like it to have Bluetooth so we can play iPad music to it. The current one does not work it looks like I have some wires that are not connected to the factory radio. I would also like to update the 20 inch dinosaur TV and install a 40 inch flatscreen over the driver passenger area and curious how do you make a mount once I remove the old TV to support a flatscreen.

Congratulations! I too recently upgraded from a travel trailer to a Class A motorhome.
The radio upgrade should be no problem, and if you get on Amazon you can find plenty of stereo systems with the features you are seeking for very little money. I just purchased one for my rig that has Bluetooth and the display hooks up to my new rear view camera.
I also have removed the old cathode ray TV, haven't yet put in a flatscreen but I intend to use a drop down mount system to keep it tight to the ceiling when not in use.

Did you buy your Georgetown at the auto auction in Portland? I saw the ad, but its shorter than I wanted, so I passed on bidding.

Good luck with your purchase!

To break in slowly, you might try camping at some OR state parks, like along the Columbia or in E OR. Your state parks have cheaper rates in the off season, and they're usually quite civilized!
