Wisconsin Camper

Hey Everyone, I finally decided to create an account, rather than just reading all of your posts.

A little bit about myself and my family. Both my wife and I were popup campers growing up with our family, and started tent camping 6 years ago. After 2 years of hauling a tent, a dog, and tote after tote of gear in a small sedan, we upgraded vehicles and bought our first popup. What a difference this made! Especially as our first son was born last year, and is being 'trained' that camping is a way of life.

2 popups later, we bought our first hard side last season and love it! We went with the hybrid route to save on weight but not sacrifice size, a 2011 Gulf Stream Stream Light 19DFD.

We try to get to different campgrounds several times per year, got out 8 times last year with a newborn, and working to hit 10+ trips this year. I will get a picture up of our camping rig as soon as we can. Glad to be here!

Welcome to the iRV2 family. My wife and I are originally from Wisconsin (Kenosha). We raised 3 kids in the RV lifestyle. We started with a custom van and moved to a pop-up when our second was born. After 9 years with 3 kids, we moved on to a 31' travel trailer with bunk beds. While in Wisconsin, we tried to get out every other weekend during the season, along with an annual trip somewhere. We usually went to state parks in Wisconsin. We also went to state parks along Lake Michigan in lower Michigan.

We moved to FL in 1994 and have since upgraded to a Class C and now our current Class A motor home. My daughter (the oldest) still likes camping and her family (husband and 2 kids) had a pop-up for 7 years and now a travel trailer.

I think there is no better way to raise a family than with the RV lifestyle. I know that I would not have been able to visit the places that we did and see the things that we did with 3 kids had it not been for the RV.

Good luck on your future endeavors.
