I have a 2006 Jayco 31BHS purchased last spring. After opening the trailer up this spring I noticed a slight drop in the floor. I am told by the dealer it is likely that one of the floor joists has twisted. I do notice a slight gap between the floor and the bottom of one of the walls. The dealer says there are two ways to repair this, either from underneath or up top. I am told that Jayco is normally reluctant to do the repair from underneath as this will involve cutting then taping the corrugated underbelly with the possibility of water penetration in the future. I thought the entire underbelly could simply be unscrewed and replaced. Why would one want to cut into it? If the repair is done from up top, I am told that to do a proper repair, they would have to remove all the cabinetry and possibly the walls since the linoleom is underneath. Any suggestions with respect to cause and repair would be appeciated. The trailer is parked at a site permanently and I am told by one repairer that the repairs can be done on site and by another that the trailer will have to be hauled in.

Scott N, welcome to iRV2.com. We are glad to hav eyou join us. Sorry to hear of the Jayco floor issue. Have you talked to anyone at Jayco about this directly? You may want to do so just to be sure the dealer is on the right track with the way Jayco wants it done. Good luck and keep us posted as to the progress.

Hi and welcome to iRV2, Scott.

I have no answers for you but hope that your trailer is still under warranty (I know that the motorhomes have a 2 year bumper to bumper).

Jayco does make it VERY difficult to talk directly to them- I know, I've tried. They pretty much insist that you go through a dealer Probably my single largest complaint with Jayco.

Anyway, good luck, Scott
