Wow! so New

Hello everyone,
Talk about being new my Wife and I have never had or know anyone that owns a RV. We have been doing all our road traveling by Car and staying at great hotels/motels. Well we decided RV'ing as our new adventures. Of course we no nothing about RV's and are looking to buy used. Well we found a RV at a dealer lot with a floor plan that we liked. It's a 1997 Jayco Eagle Class C 29.5 ft with 17k miles. We would like to keep our RV purchase for a Few years before we buy New just to get the experience and decide if RV'ing is the dream we think it is for us, as far as traveling to see our beautiful Country. So, build quality is priority as a start so any thoughts on Jayco would be greatly appreciated.
Hello again and thanks for having such a great forum to tap into.

Jayco generally has had a good reputation for quality.
Since this is your first RV of any sort I am glad you are buying used. Keep the costs down. That way if you hate it you can sell in the future with less loss.
One suggestion I would make. Go out and sit in the RV for a while. Get rid of the salesman and pretend you are actually living in it. Try taking a shower, making a meal, eating the meal, watching TV, basically living in it. Then decide if the floor plan is right for you. If there are too many hates, walk away and keep looking. If you have more likes, then make an offer. What ever they are asking, start at 60% of that number and work from there.

I think you will enjoy the group, glad you found us. As far as Jayco they make a good unit and from what I hear they stand behind what they sell. In any case choose wisely and take your time looking. Don't rush, and it'll be better in the end, and you'll happier. Good luck.
